4 Things Your Website is Missing

We know what a website needs to work but then we’re dealing with them all the time. If you created your website a few years ago it might be time to check in with it and work out whether it’s really working for you. Hopefully you’ve got some analytics set up so you can check in to see some statistics about it. Are people visiting? Are they clicking? Or are they just moving on to somewhere else? Here’s a few things that we think are very important to your website now.

1. Responsive design

Does your website look good on all screen sizes? If not then it isn’t a responsive website. This is essential now that so many people are viewing websites on phones and tablets. When we design + develop a website from scratch we check that it looks good on all screen sizes. You don’t necessarily need a great big image on a small screen but it will look fabulous when viewed on a desktop. We make sure all the details are there. You can check whether your website if responsive by changing the size of the window you’re viewing it in. If it changes and adapts then it’s responsive and if it doesn’t then maybe it’s time to get in touch.

2. Fabulous branding and graphic design

Does your website look professional? Are the colours fresh and vibrant? Does it speak to your target audience? If not then it could maybe use the help of a professional graphic designer. We know about branding. We can help you to build a brand that you can be proud of from the logo to the icons and the finer details of fonts are colours.

3. Calls to action

What do you want people to do once they’re on your website. Users tend to need a little help. Why are they on your website? What help can you give them? It could simply be that you want them to contact you. So then why not have your contact details easily accessible. If it’s to sign up to a newsletter then make that a feature. Guide users to do what you want them to do.

4. Easy navigation

What do people look for when they visit your website? Are they looking for your opening times? Do they want to know who you are? Where you are based? How easy is it for them to find the information? People have a really short attention span. If they can’t find what they’re looking for straight away they’ll give up and find somewhere else. We do a lot of planning at the start of the design process to ensure users can find what they’re looking for quickly and easily. Don’t bury the most essential bits under multiple menus and at the bottom of the page. Think about what you would be looking for as a user and take it from there.

What's missing from your website? If you're missing any of these things or even if you aren't sure what your website needs get in touch with us and we'll review your website. We can give you hints and tips on how to improve your site. Or we can help you create a whole new fabulous website from scratch.
